Week 1... so to speak!

After a 7 month hiatus, I came back to tell the world (or whoever decides to read this) about my workouts and to participate in Weigh-In Wednesday.

Weigh-In Wednesday came and went without any fanfare!  I lost 1 pound this week - JUST A POUND.  I measly, little, stinky pound.  I know, I know - it's not JUST A POUND!  It's 4 sticks of butter or a few potatoes.  My biggest weakness is actually eating at HOME.  For some reason, eating out is an event.  I can't explain it, but I like to buy food and bring it home.  This weak, I tried to eat at home more than not.  I think I succeeded.... Tonight, I had smothered chicken and of broccoli.  The reason I say it's 'old' is because it was grilled sometime last week.  I don't even remember what day.  But, in my old age, I hate to throw away food!  I only have some grilled chicken and a potato left in the fridge so I better go shopping!

It's a beautiful night in Ohio (Milford - east of Cincinnati).  There was no way I was not going to get in a workout tonight.  I opted for the Tire and Bike....

WOD
10 rounds for Time
10 Tire Flips
1 minute on Assault Bike

I finished in 22:45.  I'm sure I could have done it faster but I walked from the tire to the bike - and sometimes the tire ended up further away from the barn.  All in all - I am happy.  My forearms will feel it tomorrow

For those of you who don't know, I decided to take an Anatomy & Physiology class this semester.  The human body is quite powerful and I need to know the hows and whys.  Out first big test is Saturday.... Yes, I am torturing myself with a class (with Lab) every Saturday from 9:00 AM until 2:20 PM.  We have a 40 minute break between class and lab.  I try to get a walk in during the break!

Hope everyone has an awesome week.  I hope to return to link up next week.

Seven Months Later

As the title suggests, it's been 7 months since I posted to my blog.  I was never really sure why I started a blog but it sound like fun at the time.  When people see a blog, they feel entitled to know MORE than what you really want to share.  I work on the need to know basis.  Today, I will post a few things that I think you 'need to know' ......

September 9 is my birthday!  It's been a great day - I have nothing to complain about except getting older.  But age is just a number.  I got to have my cake and eat it too.... I actually got 2 cakes.  I'm one lucky girl!

I also got a Hot Dog and Bun Toaster.  I've wanted this since I saw it in the Sky Mall magazine in 1989.  I will post about its functionality in the future.  All signs point to the fact it will not cook the hotdog but thoroughly burn the bun.

Someone who doesn't burn the bun is Bones' Burgers.  I had the best birthday burger for lunch today from my favorite burger truck.  If you haven't tried it, you need to get there before the end of the season.  Not only is the food good great, but Bones (aka Curtis Bonekemper) is genuinely a nice person.  He doesn't take life too seriously and always promotes a fun atmosphere.  And, he knows how to make a burger!

My goal for the next year is to change my terrible eating habits!  They really hampered my ability to run this weekend when I was part of a Market to Market relay team.  Me and seven friends ran a relay from Milford to Dayton.  I had an eye-opening experience on my second leg when I thought I was going to die..... it was extremely hot, full sun, no breeze and I was out of water.  At that moment, I realized something had to change.  Luckily, or not, I had about an hour to myself to think about it.

Change is hard - but, without change, you can't grow.  I'm going to take it one day at a time and see what happens.

I will be back next week for Weigh In Wednesday.  Hopefully, I will have some good news!
